Frequently Asked Questions
How can I purchase a DVD or video I see listed on your site?
Because DIC is a producer, we do not sell our videos directly from our site. We work with a number of different distributors, which means our titles are found at various retailers. However, you can locate and purchase most titles by clicking on the "Click to Buy" buttons.
How can I find out about upcoming video releases of my favorite program?
A complete list of current and upcoming releases can be found at www.dicentertainment.com/home_entertainment/dvd_video/. If the title you are looking for is not listed, we do not have plans to release it in the near future.
How can I purchase the entire series of my favorite program?
For a variety of reasons, we are not always able to release as many titles as we would like. In some cases, we do not have the rights to release all episodes. In other cases, some episode masters are not usable.
Why am I having a difficult time finding your DVDs and videos?
Because DIC is a producer, we work with a number of different distributors, who independently sell into retail stores and other channels. As new product is constantly being introduced, you could see a DIC title in a retail store one day, and not see it the next.
Why can't DIC release all of the great programs I remember from the 80s?
For a variety of reasons, we are not always able to release as many titles as we would like. In some cases, we do not have the rights to release all episodes. In other cases, some episode masters are not usable.
Why aren't prices listed on the DIC site?
Our distributors handle pricing, which can vary by title and season.
Why aren't some of your videos released as aired on television?
We always strive to deliver products that are true to broadcast. However, there are examples where some programming contains features that were produced separately from the show. We cannot include them in our releases.
What does it mean to own the rights to a program? Why doesn't DIC own the rights to all its programs?
For a variety of reasons, DIC does not always exclusively own all the rights to its programs. Just like when two people own a car and have to determine between themselves when each of them will be able to drive the car, if someone else owns certain rights in a program with DIC, we have to determine with them what we will do with those particular rights.
